It was only 3 weeks ago when we at everlasting had no plans for Memorial Day weekend, and things were simple then. It only took one drunken encounter with a man at a country bar to ensure that the weekend will be both salacious and spicy. Thus now here we are about to embark on a journey to central Washington with a man we barely know in an RV with his sister and father for Sasquatch. We’re taking things in stride and have set aside two goals that if accomplished would make any weekend beautiful: listen to some great live music and of course avoid being raped in an RV.

Star Slinger is going to be at Sasquatch which is great since we’ve never seen him live before and it’s always nice to watch someone who has such an amazing appreciation for music. And it is so evident that the UK based musician’s music tastes run the gamut. From remixing DeerHunter  to releasing singles with Juicy J and dropping J Dilla inspired beats Star Slinger has varying tastes.

And his remixing skills are definitely top notch. His touch transforms Deerhunter’s Helicopter and sends the listener on a psychedelic journey. And from Rollerskater’s Sleep Tight he’s seemingly created a Dragon Ball Z villain theme music(We vote Emperor Pilaf, don’t ask why). So if you’re going to Sasquatch we better see you at the Banana Shack on Sunday. (Also Tycho will be there.)

Been exploring the beats world a little more thoroughly after seeing Daedelus play live last weekend. Pretty sick show I encourage you to check it out if you have the chance, he only has a few shows left on his tour so if you happen to be in a town when he’s playing definitely check it out. After some exploring, here’s a little of what I found.

Really excited for Skyence’s new album release.

Thank pixelord for the crazy cat gif.

This song has pretty much penetrated the interwebs pretty thoroughly. Assuming you live in a faraday cage or have been actively seeking treatment at an internet addiction rehab retreat in the remote mountain villages in Indonesia , I urge you to make an exception and LISTEN TO THIS!

This track reflects the many aspects of electronic music that I’m currently into, it’s sexy, but not in any way too much or over complicated. Shiny electric synths evolve into a high energy upbeat hypnotic masterpiece.

Love it.

here’s another track the maestro also recently put out..

Camo & Krooked, drum and bass with some feeling and soul. If you’re new to drum and bass, or find it a little too fast or you haven’t quite attained a taste for it, I suggest you give these two a try.

Camo & Krooked’s brand of dnb is a little different. Similar to sounds like Sigma or even dnb style Alvin Risk, there’s definitely a melodic, bass-filled, heavy sound at hand, giving you a version of dnb with vocals, synths, dubstep style basslines, and a little liquid too.

They are winning MAD stuff, while touring they unknowingly won the  Best World Producer & Best Album trophy at the Slovakian Drum & Bass Awards…

Still not interested? Think back to oh say 10 years ago… Memories of say… ak47′s and pp7′s and ODDJOB? these two made music for the new Goldeneye videogame. nuff said

The two South London brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence have been making some incredible music lately. Things have not been slowing down at all with these two, it’s really amazing the amount of quality music they’re putting out these days. Their remix of Jessie Ware’s ‘Running’ is a rhythmic trip, taking original (produced my Julio Bashmore) to a completely new direction. To define it may be impossible? Maybe crazy? Maybe I’m just bad at labeling genres? Future garage mashed it with disco house?  To put my finger on the exact genre may be impossible.
